Welcome to the first project update for the Lotus Creek Wind Farm for 2026. Construction continues to progress well, despite some heavy rain in mid-January, and the team is preparing for several major milestones in the first half of the year. We have also announced the recipients of the second round of our community benefits fund. Read below for more.
Construction progress
The majority of the internal access roads, turbine hardstands and foundation excavations at the wind farm site have now been completed. Installation of underground cabling and overhead power lines is underway and Powerlink Queensland’s new Glencoe switching station is nearing completion.
An on-site concrete batching plant has been mobilised in readiness for the concrete pours for wind turbine foundations, which are scheduled to begin in mid-February. The first shipments of turbine components are expected to arrive at the Port of Gladstone in mid-February and will begin being transported to site mid-year.
Following heavy rain in January, road access to site was cut for several days. All personnel safely returned to the workers’ accommodation before the flooding began. Work resumed on site on 15 January and remediation works are underway on road infrastructure impacted by the flooding.

We’re pleased to announce the successful recipients of Round 2 of the Lotus Creek Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.

Congratulations to:
- Carmila Christmas Tree Event – to support a 40-year-old community tradition that brings local families together each festive season.

- St Lawrence Recreation Group – to support the 2026 Campdraft event.

We’re proud to partner with these organisations and support initiatives that contribute to strong, connected, and thriving communities.
Established in 2025, the Lotus Creek Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund provides financial support for projects that deliver lasting, meaningful benefits across the Lotus Creek, Clarke Creek, St Lawrence and surrounding communities.
