About CS Energy

The Lotus Creek Wind Farm is a proposed renewable energy project in Central Queensland, north of Rockhampton. The project will consist of up to 46 wind turbines, each with a maximum blade tip height of 230 metres and a combined maximum capacity of around 285 MW. The project is expected to generate approximately 850,000 megawatt hours (MWh) per year of clean, renewable energy.

The wind farm will deliver renewable, low-cost energy to the National Electricity Market (NEM) and contribute to the QLD Government’s net-zero emissions target by 2050 and significantly contribute to the 2032 70% renewable energy target. The project will provide a significant amount of new generation capacity required as coal-fired power stations are retired over the next decade. The site has strong winds, access to high voltage transmission lines and good road access with few neighbouring properties. Wind monitoring has shown a very promising wind resource, with wind speeds strongest overnight when solar farm generators are not operating, showing a potential to provide a valuable contribution to Queensland’s generation mix and support a large input of clean renewable energy into the network.
