The Benefits
The project will deliver significant benefits to the local region and its communities, including.
- Significant investment in the local region, with positive flow-on effects to local businesses and service providers
- Opportunities for local contractors and businesses
- Up to 400 new jobs expected to be created during construction
- Around 10-15 long-term service and maintenance jobs created during project operation
- Development of new skilled labour in the region within the growing renewable energy industry

Lotus Creek Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund
The Lotus Creek Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, established in 2025, will provide financial support to projects and events that help enrich the Lotus Creek, Clarke Creek, St Lawrence and surrounding communities in a tangible, lasting way.
Through the Lotus Creek Community Benefit Fund, $100,000 will be awarded annually over two rounds per year (to be opened in March and September).
Eligible organisations can apply for up to $10,000 for an individual project.

- St Lawrence Recreation Group for a first aid recovery shed
- St Lawrence State School Parent and Citizens Association for iPad upgrades
- St Lawrence Public Sportsground Committee for fridge and cash registers
- St Lawrence Recreation Group for the St Lawrence Campdraft
- Clarke Creek State School Parents and Citizens Association towards a Student Enrichment Program
- Clarke Creek Branch of the Isolated Children’s Parents Association for a portable cold room
- Clarke Creek Pony Club for a community playground.
Invitation To Join The Lotus Creek Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Advisory Committee
In the coming weeks we will announce the opening of the Lotus Creek Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund and are seeking expressions of interest to join the Community Benefit Fund Advisory Committee to make recommendations on the distribution of funds
The Community Benefit Fund will provide $100,000 on an annual basis to projects that enhance the liveability of the local area, through support for education, community, sporting, culture and art initiatives.
The Committee will meet at least once a year, in person or virtually, to review the applications. While not compulsory, Committee members will also be invited to attend official presentations or similar, in instances where the funding recipients organise events for the various stages of their projects.
